Our take on ServiceTitan
What you are actually buying
ServiceTitan is the enterprise end of this market. The depth is real: a best-in-class flat-rate pricebook, mature dispatch and call-booking, built-in consumer financing, and reporting that larger trades genuinely run the business on. It is built for established residential and commercial companies that have dedicated office and dispatch staff to drive it.
That same depth is why it is the wrong tool for a two-person shop. The value only shows up when you have the volume and the team structure to use the dispatch board, the pricebook and the reporting the way they are meant to be used.
What it really costs
ServiceTitan does not publish pricing, so anyone quoting you an exact number online is guessing. What is consistent across contractor reports is the shape of the cost, not a fixed figure. It is quoted per technician, and widely reported figures land somewhere around $245 to $400 per technician per month depending on size, modules and negotiation.
Two things push the real number higher than the per-tech rate suggests. First, implementation is a paid, structured project, commonly reported in the $5,000 to $15,000 range for smaller companies and higher for larger rollouts. Second, the platform is modular: Marketing Pro, Phones Pro, FleetPro and payment processing are added on, and office staff who need logins are seats too. Contractors running a ten-truck shop often describe an all-in monthly cost well into four or five figures once everything is switched on. Treat every number here as reported by third parties, then get a real quote for your own situation.
Who should look, and who should not
If you are a larger, growth-focused trade that will actually use enterprise depth, and you can absorb a multi-week rollout and a serious budget, ServiceTitan is the most capable option in the category and often worth it.
If you are solo or a small team, want the lowest cost, or need to be live in days rather than weeks, this is not your tool, and forcing it will cost you money and momentum. Look at the mid-market and small-business platforms instead.
What users consistently report
Users credit ServiceTitan as a genuinely comprehensive system that centralizes scheduling, dispatch, inventory and finance in one place, and larger shops that use it fully tend to defend it strongly.
The complaints are almost all about commitment and cost rather than capability. Contracts are typically multi-year with steep early-exit fees (users report being quoted thousands of dollars to leave), there is no free trial, onboarding is long, and support can be slow. Technicians also report the mobile app crashing and losing data offline. The clear takeaway from reviews: negotiate hard and get every contract term in writing before you sign.
